A collection of four copper or copper-alloy vessels featuring traditional Middle Eastern forms and decorative techniques. The group includes a large water ewer (aftaba) with a flared rim, a tapered neck, and a multi-tiered bulbous body, entirely decorated with hand-hammered repoussé and chased botanical motifs, including scrolling vines and stylized leaves. Also included are two coffee pots (dallahs) of varying sizes, each with a hinged lid topped by a pointed finial, curved handles, and tapering spouts; the bodies are decorated with floral chasing and geometric bands. A small wide-mouthed pitcher or tankard completes the collection, featuring a tapered body with chased horizontal bands and floral motifs. T

H: Approximately 14.5-28cm

Condition report:

All items exhibit significant signs of age and long-term use. There is heavy, uneven oxidation and darkening across the copper surfaces of all vessels (photo 1). Significant areas of green verdigris corrosion are visible, particularly on the interior and handle of the small pitcher (far left) and around the base and lower tiers of the large central ewer (photo 1). Surface wear, including small dents and abrasions, is present throughout the collection. The hinged lids on the two coffee pots appear to be structurally intact but show slight misalignment and surface tarnish (photo 1). The base of the central ewer shows minor deformation consistent with age and material softness.
