An Omani ceremonial dagger, known as a khanjar, executed in the Saidi style. The hilt is decorated with fine wire filigree in concentric and geometric patterns, interspersed with raised circular motifs. The L-shaped scabbard is clad in silver filigree wirework and features two applied silver plaques depicting the national emblem of the Sultanate of Oman, comprising crossed swords superimposed by a central khanjar. The reverse of the scabbard is finished with a deep maroon velvet lining. The scabbard is fitted with a broad central band decorated with foliate chasing and filigree, supporting four circular rings for belt attachment.

L: Approximately 30cm

Condition report:

The item is in good condition. The silverwork shows a natural aged patina with surface oxidation and tarnish in the recesses of the filigree. There is minor wear to the velvet backing consistent with age and handling. The wirework appears largely intact with negligible signs of deformation.
