A pair of carved stone Islamic chess pieces of differing sizes, each formed with a rounded domed body surmounted by a spherical knop. The bodies are decorated with incised horizontal bands and repeated circular motifs, highlighted by the natural grey and dark veining of the stone. The larger piece of tall cylindrical form, the smaller of more compact proportions. Both with polished surfaces and minor wear consistent with age and use.
