A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain ‘Lotus Pond’ Bowl.
A Chinese porcelain bowl of rounded form, rising from a short, neatly finished foot to a gently flared rim. The exterior is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a continuous scene of stylised aquatic plants, including lotus blossoms and trailing stems, interspersed with flowing waterweed motifs rendered in rhythmic vertical movement.
The interior is plain, centred with a circular medallion enclosing a coiled dragon amidst stylised flames, painted in soft cobalt tones. The rim is finished with a double-line border, complementing the refined simplicity of the composition.
