A Framed Indian Miniature Painting of Krishna with Radha and Gopis Beneath a Tree, 18th-19th Century.
A finely executed Indian miniature painting depicting Lord Krishna seated intimately with Radha, accompanied by attendant gopis in a pastoral landscape.
At the centre, Krishna, identifiable by his blue complexion and peacock-feather crown, sits beneath a gently arching tree, holding a pink lotus. Radha rests close beside him, dressed in a flowing white skirt with pink and green accents, her posture graceful and composed. To the left, two gopis in layered yellow, green, and soft blue garments carry water vessels, their heads modestly inclined. To the right, another figure in a vivid orange veil and green skirt stands elegantly, completing the balanced composition.
Above the group, a peacock perches upon the tree branch, its iridescent plumage cascading downward, while a serene river landscape stretches into the distance. The foreground includes delicate naturalistic details, including a small resting deer and sparse vegetation, enhancing the tranquil devotional atmosphere.
