A Japanese Bronze Articulated Model of a Stag Beetle.
A finely cast Japanese bronze model of a stag beetle, naturalistically rendered with elongated mandibles, articulated legs, and a domed carapace. The surface displays a warm brown patina with areas of reddish tonality and natural variation. The wing casings are hinged and open to reveal the interior, suggesting it was conceived as a small decorative box or articulated study. The underside is detailed with segmented abdomen and finely worked limbs, demonstrating careful attention to anatomical form.
