A Japanese Bronze Model of a Beetle.
A Japanese bronze model of a beetle, cast in the round with a domed carapace and articulated legs extending outward from the body. The head and antennae are carefully defined, and the underside features incised detailing to suggest segmentation.
The surface shows a warm brown patina with natural tonal variation across the shell and limbs, emphasising the smooth curvature of the back in contrast to the textured detailing beneath. The sculpture rests low to the ground, enhancing its lifelike appearance.
L: Approximately 5.3cm
