A Chinese Cloisonné Double-Gourd Snuff Bottle with Floral and Bird Motifs.
The bottle is formed as a double gourd, standing side by side and fused at the centre, with a gently tapering neck rising to a domed stopper. The bodies are richly decorated in cloisonné enamel against a turquoise-blue ground, segmented into cartouches filled with flowering lotus, leafy plants, rocks, and birds in polychrome enamels of green, red, yellow, white, and blue, all outlined by fine gilt wirework. The upper sections feature scrolling foliate bands and heart-shaped motifs, while the rounded lower bulbs display more elaborate naturalistic scenes, including birds perched amid foliage and blossoms above stylised ground patterns. Each bottle retains its original stopper, enamelled en suite and fitted with a slender spoon.
