A Tibetan Brass Phurba (Ritual Dagger) with Wrathful Deity and Makara Head, Double-Edged Blade.
A Tibetan phurba of traditional tri-form construction, featuring a sharply tapering double-edged blade emerging from the open jaws of a stylised makara head. The blade is flanked by a sinuous serpent in relief, its body curving downward along the central ridge.
Above the makara is a finely cast wrathful deity head with bulging eyes, bared fangs, and a third eye to the forehead, crowned with skull motifs and flanked by disc-form earrings. The handle rises through openwork prongs into a central knop, surmounted by an animal finial, likely a horse, standing alert atop the deity’s headdress. The shaft incorporates pierced architectural elements and layered mouldings, creating strong vertical definition.
