An Islamic Silver Ring with Carnelian Agate Intaglio.
An Islamic silver ring set with a large oval carnelian agate engraved in intaglio with bold Arabic calligraphy. The inscription is arranged in a flowing vertical composition within a smooth oval field, the carved lettering darkened to contrast against the rich translucent red ground of the stone. The bezel is framed with a fine beaded border, and the shoulders feature openwork foliate motifs.
