A Tibetan Gilt-Bronze Figure of a Seated Deity – A Tibetan Gilt-Bronze Figure of a Seated Deity. The figure is cast in gilt-bronze, seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with both hands held before the chest in a mudra. The deity wears a tall, five-pointed crown, ornate jewellery, and flowing robes. Elaborate openwork foliate scrolls rise from the shoulders, framing the head. The base is encircled with a frieze of miniature seated figures in relief. Remnants of red pigment are visible on the surface. The reverse is finished with a plain back panel showing traces of age and wear.
