An Islamic Silver Ring with Oval Agate Intaglio and Arabic Devotional Inscription.
A silver ring set with an oval, reddish-brown agate intaglio, the surface finely engraved with flowing Arabic calligraphy surrounded by a dense field of small punched dots. The inscription is carved in relief, standing out clearly against the polished agate ground. The stone is housed within a raised silver bezel with a textured rim, and supported by a substantial silver hoop featuring pierced and engraved vegetal motifs along the shoulders.
Provenance: Part of a private gentleman’s collection, based in W London.
