A Chinese Whie Metal Coin-Inset Circular Lidded Box Featuring Yuan Shikai.
A circular lidded box, inset with two Republican Chinese coins featuring the profile of Yuan Shikai (1859–1916), the first President of the Republic of China. The top and base of the box incorporate the obverse and reverse of the coin, framed by a Greek key border. The side walls are adorned with embossed floral and ribbon motifs on a textured ground.
