A Chinese Crackle-Glazed Vessel with Animal-Form Handle, for the Japanese Market, 19th Century.
Of elongated ovoid form with a short cylindrical neck, this pale celadon-glazed stoneware vessel features a finely crackled glaze and a sculpted animal-form handle arching over the rim. The underside bears remnants of dealer and auction labels, including a wax seal from a Japanese collection.
