A Chinese Famille-Rose ‘Cracked-Ice’ Porcelain Tea Bowl with Calligraphy, Qianlong Mark.
A Chinese famille-rose porcelain tea bowl decorated with an expressive ‘cracked-ice’ pattern, painted in flowing strokes of coral-red and smoky grey that spread across the exterior like natural fissures. Scattered among the cracks are several handwritten Chinese calligraphic inscriptions, each framed within organically shaped oval cartouches formed by the design. The bowl has a slightly flared rim above a rounded body and short foot. The underside is inscribed with a four-character apocryphal Qianlong seal mark (大清乾隆年製) in underglaze blue, enclosed within a double circle.
