A Tibetan Silver Turquoise-Set Finger Guard, 19th Century.
A Tibetan silver finger guard featuring an oval turquoise cabochon of vibrant blue-green tone with natural black matrix. The stone is mounted within a raised beaded bezel surrounded by twisted silver wirework. The guard is decorated throughout with engraved foliate motifs, including scrolling leaves and floral designs. The form is characteristic of traditional Tibetan archers’ thumb or finger guards, with flared ends and a curved profile designed to protect the hand.
