A Brass Bowl with Engraved Arabic Panels, Syrian or Egyptian, 18th–19th Century.
A circular Syrian brass bowl featuring a broad interior surface densely engraved with flowing Arabic calligraphic panels arranged around a central medallion of interlaced vegetal motifs. The inscriptions form bold, elongated bands separated by roundels containing further floral scrollwork. The centre displays a multi-lobed star-shaped medallion filled with tight geometric and foliate designs. Fine linear borders frame the interior composition. The exterior is smooth and undecorated, with a slightly recessed circular base.
