A Qajar Brass Kashkul Beggar’s Bowl with Figural and Calligraphic Engravings.
An oval-form brass Kashkul beggar’s bowl, the body finely engraved with cartouches enclosing seated and standing human figures amidst scrolling arabesques. The upper register is adorned with an elegant band of Arabic calligraphy in thuluth script, framed by geometric and vegetal borders. The sides bear iron suspension loops for carrying, while the base and top are richly ornamented with repeating figural panels and intricate interlace patterns.
