A Chinese Export Porcelain Meiping Vase with French Gilt Bronze Mounts, 19-20th Century.
A Chinese porcelain Meiping vase, vividly decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze iron red with dynamic five-clawed dragons soaring amidst cloud scrolls above stylised waves. The neck is mounted with a pair of elaborately cast French gilt bronze lions in a rampant pose. The base is secured within an ornate rococo-style gilt bronze stand. The underside bears a spurious Qianlong mark and retains multiple old collection and gallery labels, including “Spink & Son Ltd.” and “E. Liangyee, Paris.”
