A Chinese Gilt Bronze Head of Guanyin, Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
A finely cast and richly gilt bronze head of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, dating to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). The serene face with half-closed eyes and a gentle smile radiates meditative calm, framed by elegantly swept hair gathered into an elaborate high chignon. The ornate crown features a central image of a seated Buddha, flanked by floral and scrollwork motifs.
