A Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Figure of Shou Lao Holding a Child.
A finely enamelled Chinese famille rose porcelain figure depicting Shou Lao, the God of Longevity, shown with a long flowing black beard and a blue cap decorated with white flower motifs. He is robed in a vividly patterned gown of floral and geometric designs in green, pink, yellow, and red enamels, and holds a young child dressed in a brightly coloured garment. The back of the robe is decorated with medallions enclosing landscape scenes. The base shows an old drilled aperture and a square impressed mark.
