A Mughal Carved Jade Horse-Head Hilt, 19th Century.
Carved from soft greenish jade, this hilt takes the form of a stylised horse’s head, its features finely incised with expressive detailing on the mane and beard. The elongated shaft gently flares at the base, which is adorned with a relief-carved lotus blossom framed by curled petals.
