An Egyptian Early Dynastic Granite Funerary Vase , Possibly 2nd Millennium BC – Early 1st Millennium BC.
A rounded funerary vase finely carved from mottled granite, displaying a rich surface of deep reds, warm ochres, and black veining. The vessel rises from a short foot to a full-bodied form with gently tapering sides and a well-defined everted rim. Its polished surface highlights the natural crystalline inclusions within the stone, while the interior remains notably rough. Such vessels were typically placed in tombs for ritual or funerary purposes, their enduring material symbolising permanence and eternity.
