A Sassanian Silver Dirham of Bahram II, 273 A.D.
A finely struck silver dirham from the reign of Bahram II of the Sassanian Empire, dated to 273 A.D. The obverse depicts the crowned bust of Bahram II, shown facing right, wearing a winged crown adorned with ribbons, accompanied by smaller busts of royal family members. The reverse features a Zoroastrian fire altar flanked by two attendants.
