A Syrian Brass Silver Inlaid Tray with Arabic Calligraphy, 19th Century.
The central panel is flanked by bold Arabic inscriptions within lobed cartouches, arranged symmetrically around a stylised cypress tree. The inscriptions read:
"Patience is the key to relief" and
"Contentment is a treasure that never perishes".
Surrounding the centre is a wide border densely decorated with vegetal scrolls, interlaced bands, and rosette medallions, also inlaid with silver.
