A Moroccan Brass and White Metal Qur’an Holder with Inlaid Stones, 20th Century.
Of rectangular form with a scalloped hinged lid, this Moroccan Qur’an holder is crafted from brass and white metal, finely chased with arabesque scrollwork across the front and lid. It features inlaid red and green cabochon stones in each corner and central medallion, while the reverse displays a protective magic square surrounded by foliate engraving.
