A rectangular silk textile panel embroidered with intricate Arabic calligraphy in gilt metal thread on a white satin ground, bordered by a vibrant red band with stylised foliate patterns. The calligraphic inscription is from the Qur’an, traditionally used in the kiswah, the sacred covering of the Kaʿbah in Mecca.
