A Chinese Bronze Censer in the Form of a Recumbent Mythical Beast.
This bronze censer is cast in the form of a powerful recumbent mythical beast, possibly a Buddhist lion or pixiu, with finely detailed curls along the mane, spine, and limbs. The beast’s muscular body is rendered in an alert posture, its head turned proudly, with a ferocious expression and mouth ajar.
