A Chinese Blue and White ‘Peony Scroll’ Porcelain Double-Handled Vase.
Of globular form rising to a short waisted neck and flanked by two curved handles, this finely painted porcelain vase is decorated in underglaze blue and iron red. The body is adorned with dense peony blossoms scrolling among leafy tendrils in cobalt blue, interspersed with iron-red floral heads. The neck and upper section bear a classic meander band, with further floral scrolls and stylised cloud motifs. The foot is bordered by a lotus lappet band. The recessed base bears a six-character mark, possibly indicating the period or origin of the piece.
