An Indian Bronze Pilgrim Flask with Stylized Avian Handles, 19th Century.
Of rounded crescent form set on a foot, this finely cast Indian bronze pilgrim flask features a prominent globular neck with a domed lid suspended by twin chains. The body is adorned on both sides with a large shield-shaped cartouche enclosing scrolling arabesque motifs. Each shoulder is flanked by upward-curved stylized bird-form handles.
