A Safavid Magic Brass Bowl with Talismanic Inscriptions, 17th Century.
A deeply cast and finely engraved Safavid brass magic bowl featuring dense bands of Kufic and Naskh Arabic script, enclosing talismanic inscriptions and protective invocations. The interior well is decorated with an eight-lobed medallion containing further inscriptions in roundels, encircling a raised domed central boss finely adorned with geometric motifs. The rim and exterior are similarly inscribed with protective Qur’anic verses, surrounded by almond-shaped cartouches enclosing symbolic birds and figures.
