A North Indian Miniature Painting of Parvati, Shiva, and Devotees in a Hillside Scene, 19th Century.
An Indian miniature painting rendered in opaque pigments on paper, depicting the divine couple Parvati and Shiva seated in a forest glade surrounded by rolling green hills. Parvati is shown with a lion resting by her side and Shiva with his traditional snake adornment. To the left, a devotee with multiple heads, possibly Ravana, offers reverence, while to the right a red-skinned figure—likely a demon or servant—is also present. A white bull (Nandi) and a white rat appear at their feet, enhancing the spiritual symbolism.
