A European Porcelain Figure of an Ottoman Vendor, 19th Century.
A vibrantly enamelled European porcelain figurine depicting an Ottoman male figure, styled in exoticized attire fashionable to European tastes of the period. He wears a distinctive turban, a magenta tunic with a buttoned vest, and boldly striped yellow trousers decorated with red scroll motifs. A basket of fruit is held in one hand, while a curved dagger hangs at his waist. The word "OSMANI" is inscribed on the base.
