A Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain Vase with Court Scene and Elephant-Head Handles & Six Character Marks to the Base.
This baluster-form porcelain vase is decorated in the Famille Verte palette, featuring a vibrant scene of figures in an outdoor courtly setting. At the center, a child rides a deer-drawn cart flanked by attendants, while elegant ladies and a young boy bearing gifts engage in a gentle narrative. The upper shoulder is adorned with archaistic green lappet motifs and delicate floral reserves, while the neck is flanked by applied elephant-head handles suspending red-glazed mock rings. A ruyi and lappet border encircles the foot in soft green, blue, and iron red enamels. The base bears a six-character mark, possibly indicating the period or origin of the piece.
