A Damascus Jewish Silver-Inlaid Brass Tray, 19th Century.
The central scene depicts King Solomon enthroned beneath a domed canopy, surrounded by attendants, musicians, and figures presenting offerings—an iconic portrayal rooted in Judeo-Islamic artistic tradition. Hebrew script is prominently inscribed along the lower border of the central panel, likely quoting verses related to Solomon’s wisdom and reign. The wide rim features finely interlaced arabesques and geometric patterns inlaid in silver.
