A Continental Carved Amber and Yellow Metal-Mounted Casket.
An ornate continental casket of rectangular form, crafted from panels of cognac, honey, and butterscotch amber, each side featuring an applied classical-style profile bust in high relief. The translucent amber panels are etched with baroque scrolling motifs, framed by deep red bevelled borders. Gilt metal acanthus mounts embellish the edges, and the box is raised on four spherical red amber feet. The domed lid is topped with a red amber finial bordered by beaded gilt metal.
