A Chinese Red Cinnabar Lacquer Quatrefoil Lidded Box.
Finely carved in deep red cinnabar lacquer, this quatrefoil lidded box features an intricate floral design of peonies in bloom set against a dense diaper ground on the lid. The sides of the box are richly decorated with scrolling foliage and floral bands in low relief.
