A Chinese Gilt Bronze Tibetan Figure of Guanyin, Qing Dynasty.
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus pedestal, this finely cast figure of Guanyin features serene facial expressions and downcast eyes framed by an elaborate crown and high chignon. The bodhisattva’s hands are arranged in vitarka mudra and varada mudra, the right holding a lotus stem that rises to the shoulder. Draped robes flow naturally over the knees, adorned with beaded necklaces and bracelets.
