An Egyptian Bronze Funerary Vessel with Anubis and Royal Iconography, Late Period, 26th Dynasty (c. 664–525 B.C.).
A rare and finely cast Egyptian bronze vessel with a twisted loop handle, possibly used for ritual libations or funerary offerings. The tapering ovoid body is richly adorned in raised relief with a ceremonial scene featuring a seated pharaoh or high-ranking figure, approached by the jackal-headed god Anubis. Anubis is shown gently holding the hand of a standing priest, an evocative representation of psychopompic guidance—leading the soul into the afterlife. Additional registers include figures in adoration and hieratic poses, all framed within stylised architectural borders. The vessel’s lower section is decorated with incised geometric motifs, converging to a pointed finial. Likely intended for a high-status burial.
