A Safavid Tinned Copper Kashkul with Calligraphy and Rider Motifs, 17th Century.
A finely decorated copper beggar’s bowl kashkul from the Safavid period, featuring intricate inscriptions and floral cartouches. The vessel’s wide, rounded body is adorned with alternating panels of Persian calligraphy and interlaced arabesques. Interspersed between these inscriptions are medallions depicting finely rendered figures—some on horseback, others bearing swords. The upper rim bears a continuous band of Persian inscriptions, framed by floral vines and cloud-band motifs.
