An Islamic Nishapur Ceramic Bowl, 10th Century.
A rare Islamic ceramic bowl from 10th-century Nishapur, northeastern Iran, featuring characteristic slip-painted black Kufic script and linear motifs on a buff ground. The bowl displays a flared profile and a raised footring, with restoration visible along fracture lines. The abstract Kufic decoration, possibly of benedictory or poetic nature, circles the interior walls in bold strokes.
