A Western Zhou Dynasty Jade Bead, circa 1046–771 BCE.
Carved from translucent pale celadon jade, this cylindrical bead flares slightly at the base and is decorated with a continuous band of swirling ‘cloud and thunder’ motifs in low relief. The bead is finely bored through the centre, likely used as a pendant or ritual fitting.
