An Indian Pahari Miniature Painting of Vishnu with Devotees, ca. 19th-20th Century.
A fine Pahari miniature painting, circa 18th–19th century, executed in opaque pigments and gold on paper. The composition depicts Lord Vishnu, shown seated cross-legged on a cushion, with blue complexion and adorned with sacred ornaments. To his left stands a multi-armed figure, possibly Ravana or a celestial devotee, hands folded in reverence, while another crowned attendant stands respectfully nearby. The scene is framed against a plain green ground beneath a band of stylized blue sky, enclosed within a red floral border.
