A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Jar, Made for the Islamic Market.
The jar is globular in form with a short neck and wide mouth, covered in a creamy white glaze with scattered iron flecks. The surface is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with continuous flowing inscriptions in an elegant script encircling the body and neck. On each side, small sculpted lion mask handles with painted detailing emerge in relief, rendered in the same blue.
