A Safavid Brass Magic Bowl with Arabic Inscriptions, 17th Century.
A finely engraved Safavid brass magic bowl, the surface densely inscribed in Arabic with concentric registers of Qur’anic verses, talismanic invocations, and protective texts. The outer walls feature bold naskh inscriptions above a frieze of medallions containing figures of animals, human forms, and further script. The interior is decorated with circular bands of calligraphy radiating around a central rosette. The underside displays additional talismanic inscriptions within roundels, including depictions of animals and Arabic script.
