An Ottoman Gold-Inlaid Iron Scissor-Kard, 19th–20th Century.
An Ottoman iron scissor-kard with a straight, tapering blade decorated along the spine with a continuous band of gold inlay featuring scrolling foliate motifs. The front face displays dense gilt ornament concentrated near the base, forming an elegant panel of curling tendrils and floral elements. The iron handle terminates in two teardrop-shaped loops, each joined by curved arms and accented with small circular gold-inlaid sunburst medallions at the pivot points. The handle section is further enriched with gold foliate decoration that flows seamlessly into the blade. The reverse shows the plain forged iron surface with a long triangular backplate and pierced handle structure.
