An Ottoman Gold ‘Zerf’ Cup with Polychrome Enamel Medallions, 19th Century.
A richly decorated 19th century Ottoman gold zerf cup, finely crafted in elegant tulip-form with a scalloped and pierced rim. The exterior features an intricate arrangement of repoussé and chased floral motifs, further embellished with vibrant turquoise-blue, cobalt, and green enamel accents. Oval medallions encircle the body, each depicting Ottoman imperial emblems—crossed standards, quivers, and symbolic military motifs—rendered in relief against turquoise enamel grounds within rope-twist borders. The flaring foot is similarly decorated with matching enamelled motifs and chased foliate designs.
