A Luristan Bronze ‘Master of Animals’ Standard Finial, Circa 9th–8th Century BCE.
A finely cast Luristan bronze finial featuring a symmetrical openwork design of two confronting ibexes with elongated, ridged horns curving outward. Between them rises a central figure embodying the ‘Master of Animals’ motif, grasping each creature by the neck in a dynamic composition symbolising dominion over nature. The figures are detailed with slender bodies, stylised musculature, and twisted rope-like supports uniting the design. Mounted on a tubular shaft with ringed sections and a flared base.
