Buyer's Premium:

A Group of Four Silver Arab-Sasanian Dirhams with the Name of al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra.

A collection of four silver Arab-Sasanian dirhams, each displaying the characteristic crowned bust framed within a beaded circular border. The faces show finely struck linear and beaded detailing, including the elaborate headdress and symmetrical curls flanking the portrait. Around the central motif runs a band of sharp, angular inscriptions bearing the name al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra. The reverse of each coin features the standing attendants arranged symmetrically within concentric beaded rings, accompanied by small crescent-shaped marks placed at intervals along the perimeter. The flans are irregularly shaped, typical of early Islamic–Sasanian issues, with crisp engraving and metallic sheen visible across all four pieces.

Each Dirham weighs approx. 4g

Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished Danish collector.
