A Japanese Bronze Model of a Lobster.
Cast as a naturalistically observed lobster, the bronze model is depicted in an animated stance with the body raised on articulated legs and the large claws extended forward. The segmented abdomen curves gently towards the tail, which is finely detailed with fan-shaped elements. The surface is worked with textural detailing to suggest the ridged shell, joints, and limbs, with careful definition to the eyes, antennae, and pincers.
L: Approximately 10cm
Provenance: Private collection from a British gentleman.
